Metropolis, Sprawling

February 19, 2005

metropolis, sprawling
silent light
crawling across a brown sky
the future is coming
strolling down
dark city streets
floating on
shallow wasteful waters
seeping through drain pipes
pooling in rust puddles
dripping on junk piles
never ending urban cycle -
acidic rain falling
on dim-witted minds
and corner-stranded girls
cursed by evil gods
and all the in-betweeners
ugly non-entities
endlessly worshipping
at altars to demons
in the form of green paper
that bleeds from their pockets
and picks at their conscience
that burns down apartments
and pays for their poison
